I did install Ubuntu for aircrack (popular application to secure WEP networks) and I ended in failed and tiresome 12 hours of time wastage. I don't know how other Distros are going to behave but I am going to try SUSE instead.

Hey Martin,

I'd advise against using .local as a suffix for local DNS resolution.

It is true that .local is a "hijacked" DNS, but since it's introduction with the ZEROCONF standard it has gained a pseudo status as a don't touch address. ZeroConf was around before Active Directory was created by MS, so I'd call foul on MS for recommending the .local suffix in their AD examples.

Problem is, try altering that little option in an existing AD setup: Not a chance.
